Where I come from isn’t all that great
My automobile is a piece of crap
My fashion sense is a little whack
And my friends are just as screwy as me
Ok, so none of that really applies to me except maybe the fashion sense and friends, ‘cuz we’re all a little strange in our own ways, right? Just listening to this song while doing a little remote assistance here at work on one screen and typing this on the other. I will be moving into a new house starting tomorrow from the house that I’ve lived in for a year now, so it’s kind of cool to look back over the last year at events in and around the house.
It really all started with a road trip to Dallas for Mark and I to pick up all the furniture and odds and ends that my parents so graciously donated. Adam and Mark mostly helped with moving me into the house. Chris Hiestand was great in helping me bring my brand new big screen tv into the house of which Andy was quite fond of. He dubbed the house “Jared’s – Home of the 52 incher.” We got things going with a House Warming Party. That turned out to be the first of MANY parties/get-togethers to come at that house.
We had no shortage of visitors. We have had just about everyone’s parents visit and stay at one point or another. My parent’s during this past Easter. Joe’s parents visited on several occasions. Natashia’s parents fled the hurricanes near the Houston area last year and set up a rockin’ graduation party again for her in December. Jeff’s parents helped him move in after finals of this year in May.
We had an extremely successful party for the Tech/Texas game last fall where there were easily over 50 people in attendance, with the added bonus of stadium seating.
I had a dog Max for a few months that LOVED to tear up the backyard and the fence, eventually leading to me having to give him up to Lubbock Animal services, great dog aside from that.
We had birthday/graduation parties for each one of the residents living in the house, and even some parties for those who did not live there.
Jeff will be staying while both Joe and I will be moving on and also Andrew moving in. I will be helping Tim move into my old room this weekend and it will be time for me to say good bye. Needless to say it was a pretty good year, one that I definitely wouldn’t trade for anything.
