Today Katie and I had planned on flying to California to visit with my extended family since I have met about half of her’s and she’s never met any of mine. It just so turns out that good ol’ Mother Nature had different plans. All flights out of Lubbock International Airport have been cancelled today and all flights into have been delayed. It’s a bummer because it has been over a year since I’ve seen a good majority of my family and I was really looking forward to it and Katie was pretty excited.
Oh well, maybe next time. The slightly annoying thing about it is that my parents, departing from Dallas to Orange County, not Lubbock, left right on time but landed about 30 minutes late according to flightaware.com because of some heavy head winds. So they will get to hang out with everyone that had come into town to see me and meet Katie for the first time. Once again, a bummer.
The weather isn’t supposed to get any better today so I’m staying put and not running around town unnecessarily because before my flight was cancelled I was driving to Katie’s house and saw a car spin out and hit the concrete guardrail on Loop 289. I figured it was then time to turn back around and stay at the house until tomorrow when the weather is supposed to let up a bit. Everyone stay safe and have a great weekend.
