Before Katie and I went to 10+ weddings over the last year and a half I had no idea that there was a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding after the rehearsal at the church. Also, apparently the parents of the groom are supposed to put this on (all things I learned way before my own wedding planning but, still). Since both Katie and I graduated from Texas Tech and the rehearsal dinner is on campus then my mom thought it would be a cool idea to have the invites look like sports tickets. I agreed and here is the proof that the printers sent me today.

To say that the evening was a Wild one is both cheesy and cliche but I’m going to do it anyways. Tonight’s Stars game was a Wild one for several reasons. One of those reasons was they had their highest scoring game since November ‘05. The other reason was because, well, they were playing the Minnesota Wild. Their fan base is comprised of all the old bitter and booty hurt fans that hated the Stars for leaving them over 10 years ago for Dallas.
I had gotten my Dad some sweet tickets for Christmas and he was nice enough to take me. It was great. The Stars scored 3 in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd, and capped it off with 4 more in the 3rd period for that grand total of 8. Total domination. Now as long as the Cowboys win on Saturday and Texas Tech wins on New Years then I will be a happy camper. (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)

This past weekend was spent in Dallas for nine of those of us on Raider Awakening Leadership for RA37. Excuse me, eight, Corie wasn’t able to go with us at the last minute because of a family emergency, so prayers for her family, definitely. It was a great whirlwind of a weekend getting into Highland Village, where my parents live, just before 11pm Friday night and leaving after Mass and picking up lunch on Sunday at about 12:15pm. Here’s a little recap of the weekend:

All this last week the various weather pundits had been predicting in excess of 10 inches of snow for our area, grocery store shelves were being pilfered, and everyone was in general disarray in anticipation of the drastic weather on the horizon. Fortunately that never happened quite to the extreme that was being predicted.
