Two for IHOP

James and I

James here was the missing 1/4 from the hockey game last night. Him, Anthony, Scott and I all played hockey together during middle and high school and pretty much went and did everything together. Unfortunately he was not able to join us because he works security at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine right by Grapevine Mills mall. We met up for breakfast this morning at IHOP and had a good time catching up. He is pretty sure that since he works security there that he might get assigned to Terrell Owens’ bash at that hotel on December 3. From what he told me the celebrity guest list is pretty impressive and he should have a great time while working. This picture of us was more for my Mom. Before I left the house this morning to meet up with James she pleaded with me to take my camera so that she could see a recent picture of him. Don’t worry ladies, he’s taken, sorry.

Three for 3-0

Anthony, Scott & I

I can honestly say that I think this is the first picture of the three of us (Anthony, Scott, and I) since our senior year of high school. Even then I don’t even think I could find a picture of that either. The three of us were great through middle and high school and played inline hockey together on several tournament championship teams as well as a National Championship team.

Since I’m in town (Dallas) for a bit before I thought it would be a great idea for us to get together for the vs. Kings game. That’s where we took this picture, outside of the American Airlines Center. The won 3-0. Now if the can win for the second time in 5 days on Thursday then this quite possibly could be the best of all time with two wins and a win each for the and .

Cowboys win + Texas Tech win = Victory For America

Cowboys Win!Well, at least according to Chris Kellerman. This is probably the best way to kick off the entire week off of for by having both my and win their games decisively. Some might argue the having a decisive win but their defense came up with stop after stop when it counted most. The same could be said for Texas ’s defense against Oklahoma. I hope everyone has a great and that you all safely.

Upset Special: Texas Tech 34 - OU 27

Texas Tech 34 - OU 27

I would probably say that this game was one of the best I’ve ever seen in Lubbock. It was awesome to see the fans rush the field once the clock hit 0:00. It was a site to behold. Andy remarked how this game should immediately go into rotation on ESPN Classic. Thankfully I was able to DVR the game so that I can watch different parts of it as much as I want to. This was Senior Day and it was also Katie’s last home game as a student since she’ll be graduating on Dec. 15. It is a shame that the never beat OU while I was a student but have now beaten them twice in the four years since I’ve graduated. Oh well, it’s great for it to happen now. It’s time to sleep. I’m heading to Dallas in a few hours on a Southwest flight to visit before .

It Comes Full Circle

New Year's 2007Here comes the yearly recap with dates and other happenings interspersed:

Jan. 1, 2006 - The year was started off right in The Woodlands, Texas with a small peck on the cheek from Ms. Katie Horecka at midnight… My first New Year’s midnight kiss… Joseph B. proposed to Melanie (I included this because I saw the ring before Melanie did).

Jan. 21 - I took Katie on our first date.

Feb. - I got my first dog, named Max… Unfortunately I was not able to keep him. He wasn’t a big fan of staying in my backyard and would get loose on a near daily basis.

Off to Italy

The VaticanSo I leave Lubbock for tomorrow. First I’ll fly to my parents house in Dallas. Spend the night there and we all leave from DFW Airport on a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt, Germany, and then another hop over to Rome, . This will be my first time out of the country. I got a passport for the very first time a few weeks ago, so that’s pretty cool. Our first couple of days will be spent running around Rome, then off for a few days to Norcia where Jesse’s monastery is.
