Stephanie Drawe Godfrey’s wedding was this past weekend and Katie and I were invited to help celebrate with them in Plano, TX.
After work Friday, Katie and I headed to my parent’s house in Denton County. We relaxed for a bit with my parents and hit the sack. Saturday with Stephanie and Mark was great. I had only met Mark once before the wedding. Him and Stephanie met up with them at a Rangers game last summer during a weekend trip. They looked great together and I took plenty of pictures you can see HERE.
Once we got home from the reception we had a nice dinner right off the grill with my parents, sister and her boyfriend Frank who happens to be a really nice guy. Laura and him seem to be really happy and I hope that things continue to go well for them. I’ll look forward to seeing them both again in June at Katie and I’s wedding.

Year in Review
The Texas Rangers just set a modern era record for runs scored in one game by scoring 30 against the Baltimore Orioles by 27 runs. All the Rangers runs were consecutive after the Orioles started off with 3. Go Texas!

In less than a week the Rangers have gotten rid of Kenny Lofton, Mark Teixeira, Ron Mahay, and Eric Gagne for three no-name major leaguers and SIX minor leaguers. This all reminds me of a horrible movie that I’ve never seen called Major League: Back to the Minors. It seems that now half the team is minor leaguers. I wonder if I’ll see any of them at spring training next March if I have another chance to go, I highly doubt it. I guess things can only look down from here for the Texas Rangers.

This past weekend was spent in Dallas for nine of those of us on Raider Awakening Leadership for RA37. Excuse me, eight, Corie wasn’t able to go with us at the last minute because of a family emergency, so prayers for her family, definitely. It was a great whirlwind of a weekend getting into Highland Village, where my parents live, just before 11pm Friday night and leaving after Mass and picking up lunch on Sunday at about 12:15pm. Here’s a little recap of the weekend:

Pictures from each day can be found here, Spring Training ‘07.
The final day of Spring Training went quite well. We breakfasted at the hotel and packed up our stuff and checked out to head down to Diablo Stadium in Tempe for the final game of the week that pitted the ANH Angels against the AZ D’backs.
Before we headed to the game we ate at Pischke’s, which is a Parrothead’s paradise. We all got Spring Training ‘07 “No Sniveling” t-shirts. The only major side note from lunch other than us all basically ordering the “Cheeseburger in Paradise” was Jacob’s battle with “The Atomic Jalapeno.” I will take the blame for goading him into it, but Grandpa Jack supplied the jalapeno, so I’m not ALL to blame.
Today’s game was the special one for Uncle Peter and Jacob as they are both the Angels fans of the group, my Dad and I being the Rangers fans, and Uncle Peter and Grandpa Jack just coming along for the ride. By the time we had to leave the Angels were up 3-2 and by just now checking ESPN.com, the Angels finished off the D’backs 8-3.
Time to get on the airplane, this concludes Spring Training Trip ‘07, I’m quickly looking forward to next year.
