Mosquitos Suck

Mosquitos…both literally and figuratively. There are many things you can count on in life and one of those things is that mosquitos are a pain in the ass, or in my case, a pain in the hand. I got murdered by thousands of these little suckers at Camp Rio Blanco in Crosbyton, TX this weekend while helping out at 39. One of them managed to find a crease inside my palm and it won’t stop itching! Oh well, a small price to pay, right?

Spring Break ‘08: Ruidoso, NM

Ruidoso, NM

The whole idea of going to Ruidoso for a long weekend was first brought up by Chris as a way to just get away from Lubbock for a few days and relax. I was then able to successfully secure us a cabin through one of Laura’s co-workers at the bank. Chris and Adriana drove out Friday night to get everything set up and I got out there around lunch time on Saturday after having breakfast with Katie before she left for Houston.

84 No More

Katie and I just got back into town from Houston for Joseph and Melanie’s wedding and now it’s storming like crazy, so here’s a bit of a rundown of the weekend:

Thursday: After I cut out of the office I stopped by the house real quick to pack before my flight to Houston Hobby on Southwest. Pat graciously gave me a ride to the airport and I got to “pre-board” because of my jacked up knee with my brace. Earlier in the week while flying back to Lubbock from Houston one of the flight attendants scolded me for regularly boarding and sitting in an emergency exit row. I made it safely to Houston where Katie and her mom picked me up and then we spent the night in Katy preparing for the festivities ahead.

Sittin’ on the Dock…

Bay House

I just thought that I would share my view from the porch of Katie’s Aunt and Uncle’s bay house with everyone right now. I hope y’all are having a great weekend and I’ll have more up about Joseph and Melanie’s wedding/reception later this evening or tomorrow some time.

Burnt Rubber

So here’s the actual picture of Katie’s Isuzu Rodeo’s right rear tire that got shredded to bits. Unfortunately the completely uncorked side of the tire was on the inside and this is the outside of it while still attached to the car. I thought y’all might like to see a real picture of the event that created a minor headache from the weekend (the hubcap had already been removed.) Enjoy!

Final Note: I don’t exactly know Discount Tire’s policy on this stuff but Katie and I won’t be leaving the store without a replaced tire free of charge, there wasn’t even 2K miles on it yet as she bought 5 brand new ones in March after an earlier flat during Spring Break.
