Stars Win, KISS loses

KISS TributeTonight my Dad and I went to the Dallas vs. Minnesota Wild game at American Airlines Center. It was pretty great. The jumped out to an early lead only 13 seconds in and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the night with them winning 4-2 and thoroughly dominating Minnesota.

Anyways, obviously it’s near , so lots of crazy and promotions happen around this time of year. It just so happens that prior to the game a KISS tribute band from Dallas named Destroyer played in the plaza outside the south entrance to the AAC. These guys were pretty lame and anyone that knows me knows that I’m not the most P.C. guy around and make my fair share of inappropriate jokes but when my Dad mentions how fruity you are as “Paul Stanley” then that’s not a good thing.

“Give It To Me” Bailout Rap

I heard this on the radio last week and had no idea who sang it. It is a riff on Timbaland’s “Give It To Me” featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. It’s funny and sad at the same time because of it’s pointed commentary on the current financial climate.

The Ice(cream) Man Cometh

Ice Cream Man

When I got home from Katie and I heard that unmistakable playing outside and rushed to get to the ice cream truck before it had passed. She got “Chocolate Crunch” and I got “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

nano nanu

iPod nano 8gb Last Wednesday Apple came out with all brand new iPods and they were all cheaper for the same amount of memory. Since I had bought my nano the week before I figured I was just plum out of luck. I called up Circuit City and asked them when the new iPods would be in and what the return policy for non-defective iPods was and they said “14 days.” Yesterday they got the new ones in and just in time as I would be just barely under the 14 days return period and so I swapped them out. The cool part is that I actually MADE money by swapping them out since the same capacity newer version was cheaper, so I got a credit to my credit card as well as a Circuit City gift card since it’s how I bought the iPod in the first place. The major difference is that it now plays video as well as and a new feature included called Cover Flow where you can scroll through all your by looking at the covers of all the albums in your collection, pretty cool I’d say.

TriPod

iPod nano Earlier this week I was looking over my credit card statement and decided to take a look at the accumulation of my reward points. Apparently I had enough points to get myself a $250 gift certificate to Circuity City. I looked at what other products were available and the iPod nano was but only the 2gb version. I looked at the Circuit City website to see that if I cashed those points for the $250 gift certificate instead of picking the 2gb nano online that I could actually go to the store and get the 8gb in the store. I thought that would be a better idea and picked up the black one during lunch today and just finished loading plenty of on it. It’s pretty nice, I definitely like it and there’s more than enough room on it still, about 50%, for me to add lots of over time. Now I’ve got plenty of tunes and a good mp3 player for when I’m working out and rehabbing my knee now.
