Katie and I have been back from our honeymoon for a whole day now and we are both exhausted. We house hunted with a realtor and saw six houses. We just finished not 20 minutes ago sending her another list of houses to look at tomorrow before we fly back to Lubbock.
We will get more pictures and a daily journal for the honeymoon up as soon as we can, but it may be a few days.

This morning Katie accepted an offer from the Plano ISD to be a 3rd grade teacher at Skaggs Elementary. That’s the ticket back to civilization we needed. Just kidding, but to everyone who extended prayers our way we are eternally grateful. Now it’s MY turn to find something.
Also, thanks to everyone that came out to our cook out at my parents house near Lewisville. We look forward to many more of those as the year progresses.

Observations or stuff that has happened lately in no particular order:
I proposed to Katie on Aug. 21 and a date is set for June 21 ‘08.
One of my current doctors is the least PC adult I’ve met in a long time and it’s hilarious.
Raider Awakening is a little over six weeks away.
Brian is moving back to Texas but, instead of Lubbock he will be in Dallas. Finally!
Tech beat SMU 49-9.
Andy makes some freakin’ awesome ribs.
My brother is now Br. Peter Jesse Bares, Peter being his monastic name.
Rehab sucks. However, I am told I am progressing quite well.
I’ve hit a bit of a snag in poker lately having a bad run of nasty beats over the last month or so.
Katie and I registered at Bed Beth & Beyond, Sears, and Target this weekend. It was exhausting.
I’m doing my best to keep cheerful about my work situation.
I will be able to play football/volleyball/ultimate frisbee again in about three and half months.
I am most definitely enjoying the new iPod I bought last week even though Apple came out with new versions of all their iPods today.
Three weeks from now I will be visiting Dallas to see my brother in his first trip back to the States in almost two years.
This Saturday will be the first Tech home game in eight or nine months when the Miners from El Paso show up to get stomped by the Red Raiders.

Friday/Saturday Chris and I moved into his new house. I am not even near being unpacked either. I have still yet to make my bed, how sad is that? While we were moving things in on Saturday the Dish guys set everything up for us, they really worked hard. We rewarded them with plenty of drinks and Taco Bell. I don’t think I could thank everyone enough for all their help this weekend. After all the moving was done we had a very successful game of poker on my new table (I forgot to take pictures). Everyone liked it quite a bit and we were done by about 12:30, one of our earliest finishing times. It seemed alot later since everyone got up really early to move. Chris and I plan on having a house warming party as soon as we get everything settled.

Go HERE for Poker Table #2.

Well, as you can see from the picture I decided for my first table to be only a table top and not have legs for a bit more portability with the possibility of legs in the future. I have affectionately named it Trial and Error for that exact reason, all of the trial and error that went into my first poker table.

The weather outside is ridiculous, good thing Katie and I stayed in and she mostly did the packing and I worked on the poker table. Admittedly I should have helped more with the packing since it IS my stuff. The poker table is nearing completion as I wrapped the rail in foam and wrapped a quarter of the entire rail in the finishing vinyl. The playing surface has four coats of polyurethane on it and it’s ready for playing time on Saturday night. By the way, I’m moving into a new house on Friday, so if you are willing and able to help it would be greatly appreciated. You will be rewarded handsomely Saturday night with beverage of choice and all the pizza you can eat followed by a poker game on the new table. Come one, come all.
