Katie and I wanted to have the first of many cookouts, parties, etc. this Friday at our new house in Frisco, starting at 6pm. Call me for the address so that you can Google Map your way to our place.
It will be bring your own beer/meat/buns, I’ve got the grill that we will fire up and cook whatever you bring. We will have sodas/juices for those not drinking alcohol. For the gentlemen, and few ladies, that would like to we will also be having a game of poker, once again the first of many, to immediately follow dinner.

This morning Katie accepted an offer from the Plano ISD to be a 3rd grade teacher at Skaggs Elementary. That’s the ticket back to civilization we needed. Just kidding, but to everyone who extended prayers our way we are eternally grateful. Now it’s MY turn to find something.
Also, thanks to everyone that came out to our cook out at my parents house near Lewisville. We look forward to many more of those as the year progresses.

My brother, Br. Peter “don’t call me Jesse anymore” Bares, has been away in Italy since September 2005 due to his religious vocation of monk in the Order of St. Benedict in Norcia which is several hours drive northeast of Rome.
He will be back in the States beginning July 18 for my wedding. In preparation for his visit back home he recreated his Facebook profile HERE to keep in touch with everyone.
He is going to be the Best Man and Fr. Jim O’Connor who will be celebrating Katie and I’s nuptial Mass really looks forward to meeting him.
Br. Peter also plans on being in Lubbock on July 19 for my bachelor party. Anyone that wants to see him before the wedding, if you are a guy, are welcome to join us then.

I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that wished me happy birthday on Saturday while I was at RA. A special thanks to Katie’s side of the family for the cards and the 4-pack collection of classic movies. Also, for those of you in Lubbock with no plans yet for Friday then I will be celebrating my birthday at 6pm at the Putt Putt on 29th Dr. After some mini-golf and perhaps some go-karts we’ll head back to my house for grilling out, Lent-style, and playing some games and maybe a game of poker. I hope to see you all there.

Andy and I were coming up with a plan for the weekend and decided that a Texas Tech vs. Texas game watching party and then poker to immediately follow would be the best course of action.
As far as the game goes, it’s on ABC with a 2:30pm kick-off. So, those of you not making the trip to Austin to watch the game can come over around 2ish. The food situation: bring whatever you want to eat or drink. If you’ll be grilling please bring the necessary things in which to do that with, we won’t be providing food this time. The grill will definitely be on, though.
For the poker game we thought it would be a good plan to have that start somewhat close to the end of the Tech game with any number of other college games going on in the background, preferably a Big 12 matchup.

Wednesday beginning at 5:30pm at Casa de Chris, Jared, and Kyle we will be having a nice little Halloween celebration. The festivities will include old school horror movies (i.e. Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, etc.), handing out candy to the neighborhood kids that will be trick-or-treating, and grilling out on the back patio for those that want to bring their own meat/buns/etc. with which to do so.
We simply ask that everyone coming please bring one bag of candy to help contribute to the pile that we will be handing over to the little witches and goblins and Hannah Montana’s running around outside.
