Preparing the Racetrack
For the racetrack I decided to get a dark stain and then I used three cans of the quick drying polyurethane spray. In between every few coats you will want to lightly sand with a 200+ grit so that everything stays nice and smooth without catching anything extra that dries between applications of poly.
Here are both the center felt piece (safely secured to the baseboard) and the racetrack sitting nice and neatly together. Nice and shiny, eh?
