That title was for Joseph. Anyways, Sunday I was inspired to build my own poker table when Katie had wanted to go to Home Depot and build herself a bookshelf. Unfortunately it worked out better for her to purchase one from Wal-Mart but I still decided I wanted to build a table. Above you will see a very rough sketch of how I originally designed the table.
Since then I have gone back to the drawing board and decided that the entire playing surface of the table will just be a nice dark stain with several layers of polyurethane on top of it for maximum shine and smoothness for sliding cards/chips around the table. I also built up a 3″ long rail around the edge last night that will sit down on top of the figure you see here having the same dimensions.
I found a place in town that will sell me the foam I will need to wrap the rail in for comfort of the players and have already purchased the vinyl to wrap that foam with. I will have a step by step process of how I managed it, with pictures, up in the next few days, I’m hoping that I can finish it before I leave town this weekend, we shall see.
You should talk to my sister. She’s been dealing cards for casino parties for 4 years. She does craps, roulette, blackjack and hold ‘em. I bet she could give you some ideas for optimum playing performance.
Well, I can’t very well do that now if I don’t know her or have contact info for her now can I?
