One Wedding and a Comeback

Texas Tech Wins!Mike and Casey got hitched last night. That was pretty awesome, I have been lucky enough to be in two “Hefferly” weddings now, way more than I could ask for. I would have to say that that really knows how to throw a party. After the reception was over we happened to still have a keg and a half left, so we will be using those beverages during the New Year’s Eve/New Year celebration. Tons of stuff happened, some couple got married, there were rings, little flower girls, a Grand March, good food and drinks, and a good DJ.

Speaking of that good DJ… He was kind enough to give us score by score updates of the Texas bowl game against Minnesota since it was going on during the wedding and reception. As we were leaving the it was 28-0 Minnesota. Then it was 28-7 and 35-7 by the end of the FIRST half. By then we were all at the reception and receiving regular updates from the DJ which was both awesome and nerve racking at the same time especially since I didn’t want to get my hopes up in case we got close but didn’t win. Well, for some odd reason we scored a TD on every possession of the second half, except for that final field goal to tie the game up at 38 for overtime as time expired.

Once we got to overtime we knew we could take it as our defense was on some berserk hot streak and held them to only a field goal while we drove down and Shannon Woods put it across the goal line for the winning TD making it 44-41 ! Probably one of the best halves of football I have ever seen play (I DVR’d the game and we watched it today).

As I write this it’s already December 31, so, later this evening we will ring in the New Year at our place, come one, come all, and have a great time, call if you need more info. God Bless and GO !
