I spent last week in California with family mourning and celebrating the life of my grandmother. I felt this would be a good opportunity to do something for the family that could last a long time. I wanted to respectfully capture the week’s events. I asked my wedding photographer, Kristin Bednarz, for some advice and this is what she had for me, “Document, document. Forget about yourself and get in close. Even if you think you are close enough, get in closer. Don’t be afraid to show emotion. Emotion drives us as human beings. We crave it whether sad or happy… remember it’s your job to tell this story.”
I hope I was able to do that.
Grandma Peggy, we all love you. Say hi to Grandpa Hub for us

Oh my gosh Jared – how special these shots are! I am so sorry for your family’s loss – however, I hope you find comfort knowing that Grandma & Grandpa are together again! I so love your family!
Thanks! I’m still learning.
These are beautiful, Jared. I know your family will treasure them.
Well, I’ve got a pretty good mentor!
Thanks for taking such great pictures! I think you could make a career out of being a photographer.
Miss you already!
We miss you guys, too! Congrats on both gold medal games. We look forward to having y’all down to Texas soon.
awesome!
I was hoping you’d like these, especially the ones of Em.
Thanks – those are really good pictures. Also, thanks for all the help – it was great to have you with us!
I’ve got some others that I didn’t think came out as well and they’ll be included in the dvd with music Dad wanted me to include.
First of all, I’m sorry for your loss. My condolences.
Second of all, these pictures are really great Jared. Nice composition and lighting balance. I’m sure your family will treasure them.
I sure hope so!
Wow.
