Katie and I finally started work on the new house this weekend and I was tasked with “yardwork.” I tore out everything from the flowerbed which consisted of some large plants/shrubs/trees. Once I was able to get those out of the ground I had to chop them up to fit them in those large brown yard refuse bags you can get from Sam’s/Lowe’s/Home Depot.
For some reason I didn’t have my gloves on and I managed to hit a knot in one of the limbs and the hand saw in my right hand jumped and I jammed it into my left thumb. I immediately began spurting blood everywhere and went through several paper towels before Katie could run to a neighbor’s house to get me a first aid kit and I took this picture while I was waiting on her.
I admittedly should have gone to get stitches, so I’ll probably have a pretty gnarly scar. I’ll have to make up a cooler story for the little one when he/she comes along.
