I would definitely have to say that last night was one of our most successful parties ever. The turn out was amazing, we had great food, great games, guests from out of town, and no drunken belligerency. Some of the costumes: 2 Clark Kents, Lana Lang, Tom Cruise from Risky Business, 2 Mormons, 2 Towel-heads, Bill Cosby, a Ghost, a StarFleet officer, a Lion, 2 Nerds, Gum on a Shoe, Hugh Heffner, etc. Those were just a few of those who showed up of which there were many.
When I say many, I mean a ton. Starting at 11 o’clock I would say there were no less than about 25-30 people in the house at once, it started getting so warm we had to open up both the front and back doors to keep it cool, even with the temp outside being in the 40′s.
The spread was pretty impressive, there was caramel popcorn with peanuts/candy corn, peanut butter eyeballs, dry ice punch, queso and chips, tortilla wraps, cooked pumpkin seeds, ghost and pumpkin shaped peeps, cookies shaped like witches hats, it goes on and on. A good majority of it was cooked by my amazing girlfriend Katie. Everyone ate the food, so she was happy.
Thanks to Kevin for Guitar Hero, that was one of the hits of the party, I think nearly everyone got a shot at playing that game, it was quite the crowd pleaser.
We also had a pretty sweet line of about eight pumpkins or so in our front yard that I will try to get some pictures up of pretty soon as well as the big group picture of everyone in costume.
As for me, it’s shower time and off to the Tech/UT game. In the immortal words of Mark Asmussen “HIT ‘EM! WRECK ‘EM! TEXAS TECH ‘EM!”
FYI: That pic up top is my pumpkin I carved this year of Yoda’s head. I don’t know if I will ever do that again, it took way too long.
I carved a cat in one of the pumpkins we got this year. It’s pretty good and by that I mean it looks like a 2nd grader did it. But hey, it’s a kitty, so it’s all good.
