… at least for right now. Most of you know that I had been applying for the Special Agent position with the FBI. I had successfully completed the first round of testing in July of ‘07. In late November ‘07 I received a letter saying that my application was being put in “inactive status” because of the large volume of applicants and there were plenty of more qualified folks ahead of me and so I was resigned to that fact.

That all changed the Thursday before last when I was called and told that due to some cancellations and a spot had opened up for me in the second round of testing… for last Tuesday. I rushed and got a new suit and all that jazz. I got into Dallas last Monday night and left again to come back to Lubbock on Tuesday afternoon. In between I went through that second round in the hiring process.

I was told that the process would take another week before I would get my results back. So I was cautiously optimistic about it over the last week and I received those results yesterday. Unfortunately, I was not selected for further processing. On the bright side I can still reapply one year from my original test date and I plan to do that.
