This morning as I was driving to work I was listening to Z102 here in Lubbock with Max, Jackie, and Armen and they were having people call in about their favorite Christmas movies. Everyone was calling in with all the obvious ones and so I was trying to think of a different one that happened around Christmas time but not one you would normally associate with Christmas and I came up with one. So I called in and as I was parking I got on and said Die Hard. Max said that way earlier in the morning someone had said that too but that it was a movie he had completely forgotten about being set during Christmas time.
Anyways, more randomness for everyone.

I know I showed a little less than 30 pictures from our engagement session a while back but I now wanted to share the entire set that we got back from Kristin, our photographer, Enjoy!
Click the photo above to view almost 200 of the shots that were taken… or at least the ones that Kristin deemed worthy enough for friends and family.

Everyday sports fans do crazy things but for 30 nights Steve Williamson did something crazier. He attended 30 NHL games in 30 nights in 30 different cities. I always enjoy seeing sporting events in towns other than Dallas (hometown) just to see how different the atmosphere is for each city or team. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to do this and be able to ever justify the amount of money he spent on this trip to Katie. go check out his blog for more info. He beat me to Dallas by about two and a half weeks to watch the Stars play the Coyotes. 30gamesin30nights.com

Yesterday I got a letter from the FBI saying that “due to the extremely large pool of applicants and the very competitive nature of the hiring process that you have not been selected for further processing to Phase II. Your application will now be placed in inactive status…” Phase II = 1 hr long, 15 question, structured interview; an in depth writing exercise or case write-up and a physical fitness test.
Undoubtedly this is disappointing as becoming a Special Agent for the FBI is something that has greatly appealed to me over the last several years and I was hoping that I would be able to get in.
In the letter it said to contact them if I felt that I have gained a new skill or experience that would help make my application more appealing. Over the next year I’ll still be working on my physical aspect of that along with my knee rehab and I hope to apply again later in 2008.
