…Crabtree. I was talking to Andy today and told me he was listening to TechTalk earlier today and they were playing this song called Crank That (Crabtree) by Ryze, a christian rap group from here in Lubbock. It’s a take on Crank That (Soulja Boy) by Soulja Boy. Here is a link to the song on Myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?…

I didn’t eat breakfast this morning and so about 30 minutes ago I went down to the vending machine to get a POWERade and something to munch on. Five minutes ago I managed to get to the bag of Gardetto’s I bought since I was beginning to feel the pangs of hunger. “Time to open the bag,” I said to myself. Apparently the bag had other plans and the picture you see here was the mess that it made on my desk until I finished eating it all and air dusting my whole area.
Lesson learned: It’s much easier to just cut open the bag but I’ll probably never do it.

I was looking around on www.gizmodo.com, a website about current or upcoming technology, and came across this new phone by LG called the CU920. Apparently over the next few months this new phone will be released on the AT&T wireless network. Not all details are available for it right now but it sure looks pretty cool and would undoubtedly be less expensive than the iPhone. It’s reported to also be using the new Mozilla Firefox Mobile browser for surfing the Internet while on your phone, very cool in my opinion. You can check out the article and more pictures here.

Well it’s been 14 years now since the Fightin’ Texas Aggies have won here in Lubbock, TX and it’s pretty nice. I hope the Red Raiders keep it that way for a while. The game started with an Aggie touchdown and ended with a near interception of Aggie QB McGee by defender Charbonett. He was poised to take it to the house but just knocked it down on 4th and goal instead. The final score, 35-7. I can live with that. Way to go Red Raiders!… In case you are wondering what Over the Moon has to do with Texas Tech football, I’ll tell ya. Once our group got back to the church parking lot after the game where our cars were we ran into Fr. Jim. He’s a huge sports fan and particularly likes the Red Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. He was decked out in his Tech gear and we went to say hi and he exclaimed “I’m just over the moon right now!” in his subdued Irish accent. It was a great ending for us.

See what I did there? I combined Optimus Prime and, oh, nevermind. I was coming across some movie news websites and this popped up. It’s a website that creates a call (or e-mail) to one of your friends in the voice of Optimus Prime from the movie Transformers using information you submit. You tell it what your friend spends alot of time doing, what your relationship is to that person, and another person of interest, and a fake Transformer name and it concocts, sometimes humorously, a message that you can send to a friend’s phone (or e-mail inbox). I’ve already sent it to several co-workers with varying degrees of success. If you need something to help get you through the rest of the work day before you can start tailgating for the Tech/A&M game tomorrow give this a try. Here’s the link: http://optimus.transformersmovie.com/

A little while ago Geoffrey Candia of the Texas Tech chapter of the Theta Chi fraternity felt it would be a good idea to exploit the Michael Vick dogfighting case to come up with graphics for a gameday t-shirt for when Texas A&M visits Lubbock this weekend. I can easily say that this was probably the worst and most poorly executed idea for a rivalry gameday shirt I’ve ever seen at Tech. To some with a sick sense of humor this may be funny but ultimately it does nothing but reflect poorly upon you, Mr. Candia, Texas Tech University, and the Red Raiders and their fans. I applaud the Saddle Tramps for setting up a free exchange program of shirts during the hours of 8am and 3pm this Thursday. They’ll be at the Student Union Building on campus exchanging Vick ‘Em shirts for their new gameday sportsmanship shirts that have the correct fight song lyrics on the back… then again I’m sure the people that bought these Vick ‘Em shirts are also those screaming the profane version of the fight song at the tops of their lungs and won’t feel compelled to trade them out.
