Well, yesterday was a pretty sweet day. I got the promotion at work that I had been working towards for about 5ish months now. I will officially start in my new capacity as Analyst tomorrow. I will be the point man at the new long term care hospital at Covenant for all desktop, network, telecom, and applications related issues.

Check out our pictures from the day HERE.
All this last week the various weather pundits had been predicting in excess of 10 inches of snow for our area, grocery store shelves were being pilfered, and everyone was in general disarray in anticipation of the drastic weather on the horizon. Fortunately that never happened quite to the extreme that was being predicted.

This saying couldn’t apply more fittingly to just about every player move the Texas Rangers have ever made. I say all this in reference to the Rangers offering retired Sammy Sosa, formerly of the Rangers, White Sox, Cubs, and Orioles, a minor league contract heavily ladened with incentive based bonuses and a chance to join the team at spring training in Surprise, Arizona.

Today Katie and I had planned on flying to California to visit with my extended family since I have met about half of her’s and she’s never met any of mine. I rushed home, finished packing and then Chris stopped by and we were off to the airport for our 6:40pm flight with a stop off at McAlister’s for dinner. We both picked up something we hadn’t tried before and were not disappointed, it’s definitely a good place to eat if any of y’all haven’t been there and get a chance to.

Here comes the yearly recap with dates and other random happenings interspersed:
Jan. 1, 2006 - The year was started off right in The Woodlands, Texas with a small peck on the cheek from Ms. Katie Horecka at midnight… My first New Year’s midnight kiss… Joseph B. proposed to Melanie (I included this because I saw the ring before Melanie did).
Jan. 21 - I took Katie on our first date.
Feb. - I got my first dog, named Max… Unfortunately I was not able to keep him. He wasn’t a big fan of staying in my backyard and would get loose on a near daily basis.
