Mike and Casey got hitched last night. That was pretty awesome, I have been lucky enough to be in two “Hefferly” weddings now, way more than I could ask for. I would have to say that that family really knows how to throw a party. After the reception was over we happened to still have a keg and a half left, so we will be using those beverages during the New Year’s Eve/New Year celebration. Tons of stuff happened, some couple got married, there were rings, little flower girls, a Grand March, good food and drinks, and a good DJ.

… I went back to Dallas this year for
Christmas as I always do to spend time with the
family. The major difference from previous years was the absence of my brother, Br. Jesse, who is in
Italy. So that was a little rough on my parents not having him home for the first year ever.

Well, today starts the Christmas ‘06 break for me. It really only lasts about three to three and a half days, but still, it will be nice to be spending time with the family somewhere outside of Lubbock. It’s just nice to have a change of scenery even though Dallas doesn’t get snow like this (picture is from a few days ago around 1am). So I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas, Christians, don’t be afraid to say Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, I don’t care if it’s not politically correct, sue me. And on that note, God Bless!

This movie surprised me. It was much better than I had anticipated. Like most of the reviews I read, I would say it’s the best Rocky since the original. If you liked Superman Returns then you’ll like Rocky Balboa. It could have easily been titled “Rocky Returns” because of how nicely it gets back to the roots of the character and how well it borrows elements from the first film without this being a carbon copy. I would definitely recommend this to fans of the character. My favorite Rocky movie is Rocky IV because that’s the first one I can remember, besides, two of the Rocky films came out before I was even born. Scratch that, I just looked it up on IMDB.com and Rocky’s I-III came out between 1979-1982. V was just horrible and I’m glad that Sly was given another chance to send this character out right. I’ll most certainly be picking this up on DVD when it comes out summer of ‘07.

This morning started off pretty good because I got almost 11 hours total of sleep last night. That extra sleep was much needed, trust me. Then as I looked out the window I saw a light dusting of snow, which I had taken a picture of last night when it started, I’ll try to put it up sometime today. The drive to work was a little dicey since there was still plenty of ice on the roads, but I made it safely. After making to my desk I saw a sizable package sitting next to my computer “To: Jared… From: Secret Santa.” I opened it up and lo and behold was a Nickelodeon SpongeBob Squarepants Hot Cocoa Mug Set. So, if any of you would like to share some SpongeBob Squarepants hot chocolate with me just let me know!
