Heart Attack

Graham Harrell & Joel FilaniToday’s game against UTEP and how our defense played is usually the one game per year that we should have won but lost… Well, we escaped with the win in El Paso, TX 38-35 with a last minute field goal in OT1 from Alex Trlica that pinballed through off the left upright. Graham Harrell is slowly improving and is not easily rattled after a bad play or two, very impressive, finishing with 376yds passing and 2 TD’s. Let’s hope by the end of next week’s game against TCU that the result will be the same, with a win.

Saint Jared?

Katie IM’d me this morning with this, “you know there’s not a saint kathleen? how sad.” For clarification: her full name is Kathleen, Katie for short.

I wrote her back, “is there a saint jared? probably not.” She checked and, sure enough, there is a St. Jared, right HERE.

Apparently St. Jared’s memorial is March 1st. Guess who’s is March 1st, mine! How crazy is that? According to the little info page St. Jared was an Old Testament partriarch, a member of the 5th generation following Adam and Eve, the father of Enoch, lived to be 962 years old according to the book of Genesis 5:15-20, and his namesake is ‘the descendant’ or ‘the inheritor’ in hebrew. Who’da thunk it, eh? Now all I need to do is ask my parents what Jared I was named after.

Keep trying to guess the Quote of the Week.

King Kong

King KongI am watching this right now… 1:29:13 into it.

Rewind a couple of days… I stopped by Blockbuster with Katie to pick out a movie to rent and they were having a big 50% off sale on all previously viewed rentals. Well, this one was only $9.99 and then with the discount, alot cheaper. So I decided to pick it up.

This movie would have made a ton more money and been cooler if it was about an hour shorter. Looking on the back of the cover it says 3 hrs 8 mins run-time. Geez! It’s a pretty cool movie, but it’s just slow in getting to stuff. Let me know, did anyone else like this movie?
