Well, the first home game I had the chance to attend this year and we only ended up staying for just over three quarters. By that time it was 59-0. Then it was time to head off to the free Randy Rogers concert at the fair…
Anyways, some good things about the game, we got Jarrett Hicks back, no interceptions were thrown, we held the opposing team’s offense to less than 150 total yards and no points with a final score of 62-0. Our defense has played pretty well only giving up a touchdown in 1 of 4 games so far this year, a vast improvement over last year alone.
With the shellacking of SELA that puts us at 3-1, ranked #24 in the USA Today poll, and a good head of steam going into conference play against Texas A&M next weekend in College Station.

When you guys first read the title I’m pretty sure you just assumed I was talking about myself… which is pretty close. But that is beside the point.
One of my co-workers, Seth, was raggin’ on another of my co-workers, Kevin, for listening to Chamillionaire’s Ridin’ (Dirty). Kevin is one of the whitest white guys you will ever meet, whiter even than I.
Then in turn to completely confirm this fact he told us about this song “White and Nerdy” that he said was by Weird Al… done to the same tune of Chamillionaire’s song.

After Saturday’s loss to TCU 12-3 in which no touchdown’s by either team were scored echoes of “Typical Tech” could be heard all over. I would argue that instead of the entire team, only the offense would be worthy of the “Typical” tag after this game. Being able to keep any opponent to 12 points in a game is a miracle for Texas Tech’s defense. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the defense and an “OMG this is it!!!” year for our offense. So far, this is not the case. According to some pretty disgusting statistics we have only one three of our last six games. Some things are going to have to improve for us to not be this years second-to-last laughing stock of the Big 12, the first being Oklahoma State, who just so happens to be 3-0 right now, go figure. Keep it up boys, we’ll get back in it.
