Quote of the Week: 9/1 - 9/7

I wanted to start you guys off real nice and easy. This shouldn’t be too hard. It’s basically first come first serve with who gets spots 1-3 on the podium and who else gets honorable mention. Post your guess in Comments. Don’t worry, I have to approve all comments so don’t worry about someone seeing your guess and just copying it, I’ll approve the comments next Friday. Here we go:

3 in 4

This Saturday will be my third wedding to attend in four weeks. This particular one will be for Kevin Morris and Mary Krile, soon-to-be Mary Morris. Kevin was one of those responsible for getting me involved in CSA and RA. My senior year he called me up after I had filled out the CSA census form at the end of Mass as being interested in and it was all up hill from there. Unbeknownst to us we lived next door to each other in College Park University Trails originally known as Sterling University Trails. This was way back in ‘03.

The Big Time

ZachIt was bound to happen sooner rather than later. One of my old roommates, one of the first I made at , Zach, just had his first article posted on the website. Zach was a journalism major and worked in the media office with another one of my old roommates, Natashia. He has a passion for all things , especially collegiate athletics. He also happens to have a deep affection for the Texas Women’s Volleyball squad, he just happened to play for the Texas Men’s Club Volleyball team since the men do not have a varsity team like the women. He knows more about college than anyone you will ever meet. He is currently working an internship for the in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wish him luck and read his article!

1/3 Gone: Tickets For Sale

1/3 GoneOn Saturday September Second Two Thousand Six I will miss my first Texas home football game since the Nebraska game in 2000. I will be attending the Kevin Morris/Mary Krile wedding at 7pm at St. Elizabeth’s. The game starts at 6pm so there is no way that I will get to attend this game in any form or fashion. However, I put Andy in charge of texting me score by score updates while I’m at the wedding and reception so that Katie and I can keep up to date on the game against SMew (SMU).

American Wedding

Thursday: The beginning of the weekend’s wedding festivities. After the evening was to be filled with Putt Putt and Go-Karts. We all went one round of Putt Putt. I shot a 41 easily beating all those in my party that included Katie, Pat, Colin, and I.

When we were finished with golf we meandered on over to the Go-Karts which would end up being the highlight of the night. Greg Sikes, a friend of the Hefferly from Mississippi, ended up buying us several rounds and I think that everyone that went got to go at least three times, the little kids probably more. I got to go three times, once by myself, and twice with a passenger. On my first solo mission I did not place.

My first race with a passenger, the ever-beautiful lady of mine Katie, I snuck in for the win close to the end. In my second race with a passenger, the Bride-to-be Laura, we squeezed by Andy and his side-kick, one of the little Sikes’, I won despite Laura’s idea to slow down for Katie and Sarah in another kart so that she could pretend to hang all over me to make Katie jealous, haha.

It’s the Final Countdown!

Mark, Little Drummer BoyOk, now that everyone is hearing Europe’s The Final Countdown ringing in their ears it’s time to say goodbye to Mark’s singledom. *Waves* My boy Mark is getting hitched on Saturday, August 19th, at 7pm to one Ms. Laura Hefferly.

He says the first time he remembers meeting me was the bathroom of Hanly Hall when he made some comment about him really having to go bad and apparently I gave him an “Are you retarded? I don’t know who the hell you are.”-look. That was back in late 2003. Fast forward to August of 2006 and now I consider him one of my best .

Yesterday was his bachelor party which was pretty sweet. We started drinking and at 2pm and at 8pm the partying moved to Buffalo Wild Wings. It was hard to get up this morning.

I’m pretty stinking lucky to actually be in the wedding as a groomsman. Living with Laura’s brother Andy is great, especially since I will be walking his newly acquired fiancee, Abby, down the aisle as a portion of Laura’s wedding party. I can’t wait, I get my tux on Friday and Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner after that and the real thing Saturday. This is going to be a busy week.
