The Longest Yard

Well, the rest of the day yesterday was pretty uneventful, I can’t recall going on a single service call the entire day! I had to fight to keep myself awake! My current boss did tell me that one of the ladies that had been interviewing me on campus had called to speak with her and that she gave me a good recommendation, so hopefully something will come of that. I am just ready to be totally financially independent of my parents and grow up and all that stuff. No more relying on the ‘rents for everything, just love and support. After was over I headed home planning to go to Daily Mass numero dos but instead I got a ring from Sadie. Her and Laura usually have dinner with Laura’s Aunt Mimi on Wednesdays after but weren’t able to get a hold of her this time so Sadie called me and invited me and Brian to Texas Roadhouse for dinner before Marcel’s Catholicism 101. Dinner was excellent, but my eyes were way too big for my stomach as was evidenced by the half eaten everything… the Chicken Fried Sirloin, the Mashed Potatos w/ cream gravy, and the large potato wedge style French Fries. We also just got a new batch of their awesome bread so I got two to-go boxes and we made our way off to the Catholic Student Center for Marcel’s class. All four of us had driven to Texas Roadhouse so we all then set off in different directions, Laura and I took the Loop to 27N and handily beat Brian and Sadie to the Student Center because I believe they felt the need to drive slow through town, ha, amateurs and Brian has lived here his entire life, hmmm! Anyways, Marcel’s class was awesome as always. I was talking with Sadie and it’s amazing how receptive I have become to Marcel’s stuff. I came to the conclusion that is largely to do me not being in school anymore and not having to sit in class and learn all day, which makes his class that much more enjoyable for me because I’m always eager to learn new things, and Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body is just that, new. After that there was some horseing around in the upstairs of the Student Center between Brian, Laura, and I while they were waiting for a meeting. This is when Laura felt the need to start crackin’ on my oversized sweatpants, “oooo, sumbuddy be thuggin’ out!” Then she felt it necessary to start kicking me in the crotch! Brian also then thought it would be funny to start hitting me in the knee where I have been trying to heal a cut and I nearly had to beat him to death. Once they started off back to the basement for their meeting I went home for a few minutes to chill before going to the CSA Angels girls flag football game at 10pm. Sadie stopped by to pick me up and had to borrow one of my sweatshirts because she had taken hers out of her car to wash. The reason it needed to be washed is because I, just about a week and a half earlier, had used it as a cover over my elbow as I smashed a window at Melissa Vogel’s house so that she could get in after accidentally leaving her keys in the house and locking herself out, never fun times. So we roll up to the game and low and behold it is Fratastic Sorostitute night at the Rec Fields. There is a sea of pastel Polos and popped collars. You would have thought it to be 100 degrees and no shade for anybody’s neck because there was such a need to have the collar up. Sadie notice a few insanely retarded TFM’s (Total Frat Move) and borrowed my camera phone to record the nonsense, I apologize ahead of time for the poor quality of the but Sadie was attempting to pull a 007 and be quite discrete. That’s right, you are seeing exactly what you think you are, guys wearing long sleeve shirts, ties, and sport coats with SHORTS and tennis SHOES! It doesn’t scream Mr. Fratty McFrat more than the pimpin’ sport coat and short combo. Anyways, the real reason we were at the Rec Fields, to watch the CSA Angels stomp on some terrible team 32-0! The first CSA mercy rule this football season, heck yeah! So basically they were all totally pumped and I also got the rest of the girls shirt information for the CSA intramural shirt order I had placed on Tuesday. So starting next Friday everybody is going to be looking like one well oiled unit, before we walk onto the field, once we do that, there are no guarantees, haha. I do the sleep thing and hit up Daily Mass this morning before and I see Joseph P., Melanie, Andrea, and Angela there so we chatted for a few after Mass. Joseph and Melanie are doing DYRT this weekend and are kinda stressing, so your prayers will be greatly appreciated. That’s about it for now, I hope everyone’s day goes well and remember tonight is The Rock at 8:30pm and then right after is the CSA Devils mens flag football game, so come out and support, we need all the fans we can get!!!

Episode I: CTK + 2

Today started off great. Woke up and went to 6:55am Daily Mass at CTK (Christ The King Cathedral for all you non-CSAers) and sat with Mark, my boy. Saw that Ms. Hefferly was there as well getting herself rejuvenated before another day of teaching. We chatted for a little bit afterwards before Mark felt the need to remind me of a terribly disgusting phenomenon he came across at last night, he’s a Health Unit Coordinator at UMC. So needless to say that was the conversation killer we needed to send us on our separate ways for the day. Mark, off to school to take a pretty hard test, Laura, off to a Dr.’s appt. and then to Evans to enlighten the youth of our community, and me, to while wearing my brand new O94N Old Navy sweats that I got last night while Brian and I were just driving around town trying to find something to do. I sure hope the rest of the day isn’t terribly unbearable, -wise, like the last few have been due to the lack of actual and the sheer boredom that results. Tonight is another edition of Marcel’s Catholicism 101: Theology of the Body at 7pm in the Catholic Student Center. We are supposedly getting into the actual teachings on that piece of this evening, it should be really good because I feel that I never can learn TOO much about my faith. After that at 10pm tonight will be the CSA Angels girls first flag football game even though the season started last week. For more information on that go to CSAgohard.com. As a few of you may know, Lubbock has been getting the brunt of alot of inclement weather recently and last Wednesday the girls game was yet another casualty of it. So come out and help me cheer on the girls team to a victory! That’s it for now. Then I hope everyone has a great day!
