Today Katie and I had our second trip to the baby doctor. She had regular “lady stuff” taken care of as well as blood work and yadda yadda yadda. The coolest part was our second sonogram. A video of it would have been much cooler but these pictures will have to suffice. The baby is just over 11 weeks and 5cm long, so about the size of my thumb. When she zoomed in we could see the little one jumping and writhing around, the umbilical cord, fingers and toes, backbone, heartbeat, all the good stuff. The baby had a very healthy heartbeat at that of 161 bpm. We go back in another 4 weeks and might know the sex by then but most definitely by the 18-22 week mark for the appointment after that.
Yall are definitely having a girl! A heart rate of 161 is a sure sign. My two boys were always in the 120s to 130s and Mandi’s girls are 140s to 150s. I could be wrong though! Either way, we cant wait!
You had me going there for a second. I’ve never heard such a thing. All I ask for is one boy, the rest can be girls.
Well, I dunno. Josh’s heartbeat around this time was like 180 (he was a hyper little monkey). For the longest time I thought we were for sure having a girl, and then about 3 weeks before we found out, I was convinced we were having a boy. Even as I’m typing this I’m remembering all of those little doctor visits. Not gonna lie, I miss it a little bit.
Oh just something to think about…our sonographers gave us DVD copies of the videos but they also allowed us to bring in a video camera. Just a thought if you wanted to get video of it.
Great idea Kandis. I’ll make sure we bring our camera next time and we’ll get video and also the audio of the heartbeat.
